Wire Wrapping 101

There's nothing more satisfying then creating something beautiful with your own two hands. And making jewelry is no exception.

I've seen many wonderful pieces ... rings, necklaces, broaches, earrings, hair clips ... and so on. Everyone has their own style and preferred materials to work with in creating their gems.

I, personally, enjoy working with wire, chain and gemstones. Most of the pieces I create have gemstones. I try to keep things natural but who can resist the glitz of Czech glass and man made beads. There are so many wonderful, vibrant colours to pick.

The secret to a fine piece of jewelry is using quality components. A must have is good wire, one of the main components in a jewelry piece.

There are so many options to choose from ... silver, copper, brass, silver plated copper, tarnish resistant ... the list is long. Always start with a good quality wire. It's a little more expensive but well worth the expense.

This wire is easy to work with and comes in a variety of colors. There are more expensive wires out there but I have had great success with this wire.
